O Estado-Cthulhu e a emergência do terror totalitário na teoria do Direito e do Estado no Século XX

RESUMO

O presente artigo procura traçar algumas considerações sobre a literatura de H.P. Lovecraft e o totalitarismo enquanto teoria jurídica e política. Ambos os temas são oriundos do Século XX, resultado da transformação das relações sociais geradas pelo desenvolvimento tecnológico, mas herdeiros de tradições do século anterior. Enquanto Lovecraft revoluciona o gênero literário do terror, criando um panteão de deuses monstros alienígenas que reduzem o ser humano à insignificância diante do mal além de sua compreensão, o totalitarismo emerge em uma sociedade internacional arrasada pela guerra, mas que por meio dela consegue se consolidar e provocar uma aniquilação do homem nunca antes vista, seja pelo uso das armas na guerra, seja pela política do terror implantadas em seus próprios sistemas, no qual a esfera privada e os direitos eram suplantadas pela massificação social e pela invasão da vontade objetiva do Estado e do partido nas vidas dos indivíduos. Assim como no despertar do mais famoso monstro de Lovecraft, o Cthulhu, o valor da vida humana no Estado totalitário é reduzido à insignificância diante da soberania concebida em seu grau mais absoluto, tanto interna, quanto externamente.

ABSTRACT

This article draws some considerations about the literature of H.P. Lovecraft and the totalitarianism while juridical and political theory. The both topics are from the twentieth century, a result of the transformation of social relations resulted by technological development, but inheritors of the traditions of the previous century. While Lovecraft revolutionizes the literary genre of horror, creating a pantheon of alien monstersful gods that reduces the human beings to insignificance in the face of evil beyond their comprehension, the totalitarianism emerges in the international society devastated by war, but dereby it could consolidate and cause an annihilation of man never seen before, due to the use of weapons in the war, either by political terror deployed on their own domestic systems, in which the private sphere and the individual and politic rights were supplanted by social and massification invasion of the objective will  from the State and party in the lives of individual. Just like in the wake of the most famous monster of Lovecraft, the Cthulhu, the value of human life in the totalitarian State is reduced to insignificance faced with the sovereignty conceived in its most absolute degree, both internally and externally.
