EDUCAÇÃO A DISTÂNCIA: UMA PERSPECTIVA PARA A EDUCAÇÃO DO SÉCULO XXI

A educação exerce um papel fundamental nas relações humanas e é dentro deste contexto social que o indivíduo desenvolve-se de maneira pessoal, social e profissionalmente e a educação a distância (EAD) tem contribuído para esta formação. O objetivo geral deste estudo foi conhecer a educação a distância como perspectiva para a educação do século XXI. Os objetivos específicos procuraram compreender a história, o contexto e as perspectivas da educação, conhecer as demandas da Unesco para a educação do século XXI e as perspectivas para a educação superior, identificar o contexto, os conceitos e os desafios da educação a distância (EAD). Quanto a metodologia, o estudo caracteriza-se como pesquisa bibliográfica. Encontrou-se que o conceito de educação, ao longo do tempo, passou por transformações e nesse percurso as sociedades procuraram elaborar ações inovadoras de transformação do sistema educacional. A educação proposta pela Unesco para o século XXI ampara-se em quatro pilares — aprender a conhecer, aprender a fazer, aprender a viver junto e aprender a ser — que têm fundamentado, inclusive, os encaminhamentos da educação a distância, e têm propiciado aos educadores a reflexão e idealização de um tipo de educação capaz de preparar as pessoas para o futuro. A EAD tem se apresentado como uma modalidade de educação, e não de ensino, que ressalta o caráter de aprendizagem de quem é informado em detrimento do ensino de quem comunica, e redesenha uma nova concepção de universidade, em que o foco não é o mercado, mas os cidadãos. Concluiu-se que a educação a distância coloca-se como uma alternativa para o anseio por um processo educativo mais flexível, democrático e aberto, no qual os principais atores, alunos e professores, situem-se como sujeitos da ação educativa, e pode constituir-se em uma forma concreta de inclusão social.

ABSTRACT

Education plays a fundamental role in human relations and is within this social context that the individual develops a personal way, socially and professionally and distance learning (ODL) has contributed to this training. The aim of this study was to distance education as a perspective for the education of the XXI century. The specific objectives sought to understand the history, context and perspectives of education, meeting the demands of UNESCO for the education of the XXI century and the prospects for higher education, identify the context, the concepts and challenges of distance learning (ODL ). As for methodology, the study is characterized as literature. It was found that the concept of education, over time, has changed and been on this path societies sought to design innovative actions of transformation of the educational system. The education proposed by UNESCO for the twenty-first century bolsters on four pillars - learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together and learning to be - they have reasoned even about education referrals distance, and have led to educators reflection and design a kind of education which will prepare people for the future. The EAD has emerged as a form of education, not education, which emphasizes the learning of character who is informed at the expense of education who communicates, and redraws a new conception of university, where the focus is not the market but citizens. It was concluded that distance education arises as an alternative to the longing for a more flexible, democratic and open educational process, in which the main actors, students and teachers, are situated themselves as subjects of educational action, and may be themselves in a concrete form of social inclusion.
