A VAIDADE COMO CAUSA DA DISPUTA ENTRE OS HOMENS NA OBRA POLÍTICA DE HOBBES

No presente artigo pretende-se mostrar que a vaidade é o principal elemento que leva o homem a desagregação no estado de natureza descrito por Hobbes. Que a vaidade liga-se a linguagem e que esta tem relação com as teses mecanicistas de Hobbes. O estado de natureza que enseja o medo entre os homens, deve ser remediado pela criação do Estado Leviatã, que surge como um meio de conter a vaidade dos homens.

ABSTRACT

In this article is intended to show that vanity is the main element that leads man to breakdown in the state of nature described by Hobbes. Vanity that connects the language and that this is related to the mechanicist theories of Hobbes. The state of nature that entails fear among men, should be remedied by the creation of the Leviathan state, which emerges as a means of containing the vanity of men
