AS TEOLOGIAS DAS IGREJAS NEOPENTECOSTAIS E A QUESTÃO DO ABUSO DE PODER RELIGIOSO

Objetivos:O presente artigo busca encontrar explicações para o porquê de, até a data de sua confecção, somente as Igrejas Neopentecostais figurarem como rés em ações de investigação judicial por abuso de poder religioso em diversas Cortes Eleitorais do Brasil. Para tanto, faz-se necessário um aprofundamento em suas origens, sua trajetória e, de modo especial, em suas teologias – prosperidade e domínio –, a embasar possíveis explicações para a crescente tentativa de conquista dos poderes econômico, empresarial, midiático e, especialmente, político. 

Metodologia: A pesquisa adota uma abordagem indutiva, a técnica de pesquisa é bibliográfica, documental e jurisprudencial, e seu objetivo metodológico é exploratório e propositivo.

Resultados: O artigo oferta respostas ao aparente conflito existente entre dois princípios de matriz constitucional, quais sejam, a liberdade religiosa e a legitimidade dos pleitos. Explica a necessidade da conquista do poder político por parte das igrejas neopentecostais, entendendo como o centralismo que adotam afeta o voto livre dos fiéis ante os riscos do clientelismo e do fisiologismo. Justifica como tais necessárias limitações aos cultos não implicam em ofensas à livre expressão religiosa

Contribuições: O estudo identifica com precisão o fenômeno sociológico e oferta possíveis respostas, afastando a argumentação defensiva de perseguição da qual se valem algumas confissões religiosas, e propõe soluções legislativas, no esteio de experiências de outros países.

ABSTRACT

Objectives: The present article aims to explain why, until the release of this paper, only the Neo-Pentecostal Churches appears as defendants in actions for investigation for the abuse of religious power within the Electoral Courts in Brazil. Therefore, it is necessary to learn its origins, its evolution and, especially, its theologies - prosperity and dominion - to present possible explanations for the growing attempt to conquer the economic, the business, the media and, especially, the political powers.

Methodology: This paper uses the inductive approach and the technique of bibliographic research, and its methodological objective is exploratory and purposeful.

Results: This paper makes use of the rule of proportionality to solve possible tensions between those two principles: constitutional clause of religious freedom and the free and conscious vote of the electors. It explains the need for the Neo-Pentecostal churches to conquer political power, understanding how the centralism they adopt affects the free vote of the individuals regardless of the risks of clientelism and physiologism. Justifies how such necessary limitations on cults do not imply offenses to free religious expression.

Contributions: The study identifies the sociological phenomenon of the religious power and offer possible answers, pushing away the defensive argument of religious persecution that some of those churches makes use of, and proposes some legislative solutions, based on experiences from other countries.
