A EPISTEMOLOGIA POLÍTICA DA ORGANIZAÇÃO DAS NAÇÕES UNIDAS: AS MISSÕES DE PAZ E A DEMOCRACIA DELIBERATIVA DE JÜRGEN HABERMAS

A partir da averiguação da influência da filosofia kantiana na criação da Organização das Nações Unidas, o presente artigo analisa a epistemologia política da ONU, tanto a partir dos discursos proferidos no âmbito da Organização quanto a partir da análise das práticas por ela adotadas, especificamente pelas missões de paz que empreende; a democracia, então, revelase como o regime político eleito pela ONU na tentativa de atingir os objetivos e propósitos que a orientam. O artigo analisa ainda o conceito de democracia deliberativa de Jürgen Habermas, verificando a influência de Immanuel Kant também na teoria política de Habermas que, por sua vez, fornece uma definição para a ideia de democracia que parece atender aos propósitos da ONU.

Abstract: 

From the investigation of the influence of the Kantian philosophy on the creation of the United Nations Organization, the article analyzes the political epistemology of the UN based on the discourses delivered within the Organization and on the analysis of the practices adopted by it, specifically by the peace operations it undertakes; democracy then reveals itself to be the political regime elected by the UN to achieve the objectives and purposesby which it is guided. The article also analyzes the concept of deliberative democracy by Jürgen Habermas, also verifying the influence of Immanuel Kant on Habermas' political theory which, in turn, provides a definition for the idea of democracy that seems to meet the purposes of the UN.
