RESUMO

O presente artigo aborda a história política, enquanto referencial teórico possível para se analisar a ditadura militar, mais especificamente a censura à imprensa, no período de 1964 a 1985. Esse período foi marcado por um controle sobre os meios de comunicação, sobre o teatro e sobre o cinema, além da repressão cometida contra aqueles que se levantaram contra o regime de exceção. Pretende-se aqui demonstrar a validade da história política, pois esta foi criticada e afastada do meio acadêmico até meados dos anos 80. Considerada elitista e apegada ao superficial, foi substituída por modelos teóricos que privilegiavam o social e o econômico. Dessa forma, torna-se necessário uma análise de como a história política retorna ao meio acadêmico, agora renovada e com novos métodos de análise.

ABSTRACT

The present article approaches the political history, while possible theoretical reference to analyze the military dictatorship, more specifically the censorship to the press in the period that corresponds to the years of 1964 up of 1985. Period that was marked by a control to the media, to the theater and movies, besides the repression committed against those who opposed against the exception regime. It is intended here, to demonstrate the validity of the political history, because the same was criticized and moved away of the academic environment to the middle of the 1980’s. Considered elitist and attached to the superficial, it was substituted by theoretical model that privileged the social and the economic. This way, it becomes necessary an analysis of how the political history returns to the academic environment, now modernized and with new analysis methods.
