GOVERNANÇA CORPORATIVA E ENDIVIDAMENTO: UM ESTUDO EMPÍRICO NAS EMPRESAS LISTADAS NOS SEGMENTOS DA BM&F BOVESPA NOS ANOS DE 2008 A 2012

Após a criação dos níveis de Governança Corporativa da BM&F Bovespa vários estudos têm sido realizados para analisar as possíveis vantagens ocorridas com isto. O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar a possível diferença no nível de endividamento entre as empresas listadas nos níveis diferenciados de Governança Corporativa e as listadas no Mercado Tradicional da BM&F Bovespa no período de 2008 a 2012. Utilizou-se o teste não-paramétrico de Kruskal-Wallis e o teste de Mann-Whitney. Os resultados encontrados indicaram que a adesão aos níveis diferenciados de Governança Corporativa provocam mudanças nos níveis de endividamento das empresas ao aderir a algum dos níveis diferenciados. A maior contribuição é para a literatura corrente sobre o tema, visto que há poucos estudos que relacionam os níveis de Governança Corporativa com endividamento.

ABSTRACT

After the creating the levels of Corporate Governance of BM&F Bovespa several studies have been conducted in order to examine the possible benefits occurred with this. This article objective to analyze the possible difference in the level of indebtedness among the companies listed in differentiated levels of corporate governance and the listed on Traditional Market of BM&F Bovespa in the period 2008-2012. Was used the non-parametric test of Kruskal-Wallis and the Mann-Whitney test. The results indicated that the adherence to different levels of corporate governance causes changes in the levels of indebtedness companies to adhere to any of the differentiated levels. The major contribution is to current literature on the subject, since it is one of the few studies in the country to relate the levels of corporate governance and debt.
