Ideologia política nacionalista e legitimação do estado moderno

RESUMO

O presente artigo pretende ser uma contribuição multidisciplinar, compreendendo as áreas de História, Sociologia Política e das Relações Internacionais. A discussão sobre a ideologia política nacionalista e a legitimação do Estado moderno, tem como contexto histórico o final do século XVIII e o início do XIX e tem sua razão de existência na necessidade da burguesia européia de legitimar a superestrutura estatal do sistema capitalista. Com base na perspectiva teórica marxista, este artigo é uma explicação de como a ascensão da burguesia ao poder significou uma nova forma de dominação em substituição ao modelo absolutista e de como a continuidade do Estado burguês dependia do ocultamento dessa nova realidade de desigualdades sociais. A sobrevivência do Estado capitalista dependia da criação de novas representações sociais que universalizassem os va-lores liberais mascarando as formas de exploração econômica e dominação política.

ABSTRACT

This article aims at providing a multidisciplinary contribution encompassing the areas of knowledge of history, political sociology and international relations. The debate over nationalist political ideology and the legitimation of the modern  state belongs to the historical context of the end of the eighteenth century and the beginning of the nineteenth century, connected to the need of the European bourgeois to legitimate the super-structure of the state within the capitalist system. Grounded on the Marxist theoretical perspective, this article explains the reasons that made the bourgeois ascension to power a new form of domination, which took the place of absolutism. This new form of social inequality needed to be concealed in order to secure the continuity of the bourgeois state. The survival of the capitalist state depended upon the creation of new social representations that universalized liberal values disguising the new forms of economic exploitation and political domination.
