A POLÍTICA EXTERNA BRASILEIRA E A MULTILATERALIDADE: A INSERÇÃO INTERNACIONAL DO BRASIL COMO MEMBRO DO BRICS

O objetivo deste artigo é entender a importância, como  estratégia diplomática, que o BRICS tem para o Brasil. Defende-se que fazer parte de um agrupamento como o BRICS
seria condizente com a diplomacia brasileira de valorização da multilateralidade- tanto por ser esse  uma instância multilateral quanto  por ter como  objetivo político  a reforma de
instituições multilaterais de caráter global. Com esse intuito,  faz-se uma analise das aspirações dos países emergentes, no caso do grupo BRICS, de modificação da ordem internacional,  destacando-se  o papel da China.  Da mesma forma,  utiliza-se  referencial bibliográfico sobre a evolução da política externa brasileira buscando-se observar sua aproximação com os países emergentes e, principalmente, a escolha do multilateralismo como estratégia de inserção internacional.

ABSTRACT

The main aim of this article is to understand the importance, as a diplomatic strategy, that BRICS has to Brazil. It is argued that being part of a group like BRICS would be consistent
with Brazilian diplomacy valuation of multilateralism, both because it is a multilateral forum and it has a political objective of reform global multilateral institutions. With this purpose, it
is  analyzed  the aspirations of emerging countries,  represented by  BRICS group,  to international order modification, emphasizing  the role of China. Likewise, it is utilized bibliographic references about  the evolution of Brazilian foreign policy seeking to observe its  approach to emerging countries, and especially the choice of multilateralism as international insertion strategy.
