A RELAÇÃO MÉDICO-PACIENTE FACE ÀS CONDIÇÕES DE TERMINALIDADE DA VIDA COM DIGNIDADE

RESUMO

Sobressai, nesta pesquisa, a análise da qualidade de vida de pacientes em fase terminal, visando temas como o direito à morte digna, a relação médico-paciente, a importância do apoio familiar, bem como os limites éticos, morais, jurídicos e sociais que obstem a prática da eutanásia. Verifica-se a importância de garantir o consentimento livre e esclarecido do enfermo ou de sua família, fator essencial na relação médico-paciente, posto que leva em consideração os riscos e benefícios do tratamento oferecido. Assim, a família ganha destaque e papel fundamental no intuito de assegurar que o paciente não seja abandonado, já a paliação é vista como forma de manutenção de cuidados que resguardam a dignidade da pessoa humana.

ABSTRACT

The study examines the quality of life of terminally ill patients, focusing on topics such as the right to a dignified death, the doctor-patient relationship, the importance of family support, and the ethical, moral, legal and social limits that obstruct the practice of euthanasia. The importance of ensuring the free and informed consent of the patient or his / her family is verified, an essential factor in the doctor-patient relationship, since it takes into account the risks and benefits of the treatment offered. Thus, the family gains prominence and fundamental role in order to ensure that the patient is not abandoned, and palliation is seen as a way of maintaining care that safeguard the dignity of the human person.
