A RESPONSABILIDADE PELO ENFRENTAMENTO DE DEMANDAS SOCIAIS: A ASSIMILAÇÃO EMPRESARIAL DO CONCEITO E A NOVA ONDA ESG

Resumo

Objetivo: O presente artigo tem por objetivo analisar a responsabilidade pela garantia e efetivação dos direitos sociais na atualidade, se deve ficar a cargo exclusivo do Estado ou se deve abranger toda a sociedade, não se limitando ao terceiro setor. Partindo desse cenário, investiga-se a atual avaliação ESG, que é responsável por classificar empresas do setor privado conforme seu engajamento na área ambiental, social e de governança coorporativa. Investiga-se se esse seria esse um ponto de virada do setor privado, com a assimilação da necessidade de engajamento em matéria de proteção social.

Metodologia: O instrumento metodológico utilizado foi primordialmente a pesquisa bibliográfica, nacional e estrangeira.

Resultados: Os resultados apontaram para a necessidade de repensar a responsabilidade social de todos os agentes sociais, com destaque para as empresas e o terceiro setor, como forma de proporcionar maior efetivação dos direitos sociais.

Contribuições: O presente artigo busca contribuir para a efetividade dos direitos sociais, por meio da atribuição de responsabilidade social a todos os agentes sociais. Com efeito, a falibilidade do modelo atual de proteção social clama por novas abordagens e novos responsáveis para suprir a atual deficiência.

ABSTRACT

Objective: This article has the purpose to analyze the responsibility for guaranteeing and enforcing social rights today, whether it should be the exclusive responsibility of the State or whether it should cover the entire society, not limited to the non-profit organizations.

Based on this scenario, the current ESG evaluation is investigated, which is responsible for classifying private sector companies according to their engagement in the environmental, social and corporate governance areas. It is investigated whether this would be a turning point for the private sector, with the assimilation of the need for engagement in social matters.

Methodology: The methodological instrument used was primarily national and foreign bibliographic research.

Results: The results pointed to the need to rethink the social responsibility of all social agents, with emphasis on companies and the non-profit sector, as a way to provide greater enforcement of social rights.

Contribution: This article seeks to contribute to the effectiveness of social rights, through the attribution of social responsibility to all social agents. Indeed, the fallibility of the current model of social protection calls for new approaches and new people in charge to make up for the current deficiency.
